Why is there not a senior class trip?

For school trips to be approved by the board and covered through liability, they must connect to a specific course and standards with an academic purpose to the trip. Due to the traditional nature of a "senior class trip" and many of our seniors not taking similar NEAAAT courses, a class trip would not be connected to a specific course or set of standards, making it not approved by our board or covered by liability. Seniors and parents may organize their own class trip during school breaks, but the trip will not be sponsored or organized by NEAAAT staff or funds.

Why is there a dress code for Graduation?

As we continue to teach our students the value of professionalism and to set them apart for their accomplishments, we desire to present a unified class formally to the public.  Therefore, each senior is expected to abide by the formal, unified dress code at Graduation.

Why can't seniors have a decorated cap at Graduation?

Though NEAAAT values creative individualism in our students, we desire to present our senior class as a group of unified professionals. Therefore, to maintain the formality of this event, caps cannot be decorated or designed for the Graduation ceremony. Instead, we encourage students to express their individual creativity of cap designs at the Senior Awards Night where seniors will be recognized for their individual accomplishments.

How can I help as a parent?

First, you can join the Senior Parent Fun Committee to plan events that bring the entire senior class together outside of school (see Senior Parent Fun Committee Tab for details). Volunteering to assist in fundraiser logistics (picking up and delivering products), setting up events (prom and field day), and donating supplies and materials as requested will be a huge help to making your child's senior year special.
